Batanayi is an experienced Social and Environmental Management Specialist as well as Gender and Social Inclusion Expert. She is also highly skilled in qualitative research, mid and end term project evaluation, and is a published author who is passionate about inclusive socio-economic development.
Batanayi has 14 years solid experience in programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation and infrastructural development, and has worked in various sectors including groundwater resources management, climate change and livelihoods, water and sanitation, water-food-energy nexus, biodiversity and natural resources management, and natural resources management, microfinance, socio economic empowerment and transformative leadership. Batanayi has extensive experience working in the Southern and Central Africa region.
Her role with SADC-GMI includes providing technical direction for compliance with environmental and social management guidelines for the project in all 16 member states.
Batanayi holds a MSc in Development Studies, BSc Hons in Sociology, Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation and Executive Certificate in Strategic Projects Management.
